Main Purpose
As Legal Counsel, you will be a key member of the Napoleon Legal Department, reporting directly to the Belgium Legal Director. You will provide comprehensive legal support across the business, ensuring that Napoleon operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting its strategic objectives.
Your role will primarily focus on commercial, corporate, regulatory, and iGaming law, providing practical legal advice to all business lines. You will also act as a legal partner to HR, supporting labour and employment matters as needed.
You will play a central role in translating business strategy into actionable and compliant legal documentation, mitigating risks, and enabling growth within the iGaming landscape.
Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Provide strategic legal advice across all lines of business, including commercial contracts, corporate matters, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and iGaming legislation.

Act as the primary legal contact for HR matters, offering guidance on labour and employment law to support operational decision-making.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, contributing to the standardization and improvement of legal documentation across the company.

Support business operations with regulatory matters, including gaming licenses, real estate holdings, and compliance with national and international gaming laws.

Manage and assist in disputes, claims, and court proceedings to ensure the organization’s interests are protected.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, particularly in iGaming, and provide practical guidance to impacted business units.

Promote a “legal-first” mindset within the organization by developing internal training, drafting templates, and providing tools that enable business teams to operate confidently within the legal framework.
Your profile

Master’s degree in Law with at least 5 years of professional experience, preferably with a focus on commercial, corporate, or regulatory law; experience in labour law is an advantage.

Knowledge of, or keen interest in mastering, iGaming legislation and regulatory compliance.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in Dutch and English; proficiency in French or additional languages is a strong plus.

Self-starter with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset, able to work independently and collaboratively, with meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
