Senior Podcast Producer

New York

At Modo Energy, we're building the global standard for benchmarking and valuing the world's electrification assets - unlocking returns for battery energy storage, solar, wind and data centres.

The role

We are looking for a talented Senior Podcast Producer to join our growing Media & Marketing team and take ownership of Transmission - Modo Energy’s flagship podcast that reaches around 20,000 weekly listeners globally.

Based in New York, you will lead Transmission’s production - managing the guest pipeline, coordinating recordings, and ensuring each episode meets best-in-class creative and professional standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented producer who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, logistics, and relationship management. You’ll work closely with our global (US, UK, and Australian) creative, research, and video teams to produce world-class episodes that explore the business and economics of clean energy.

This role is not a filming or editing position - it’s about managing the processes, people, and quality that make Transmission one of the world’s best energy podcasts. In some senses, it’s a cross between traditional producer, editorial strategist, and A+ guest-booker - but there’s a huge amount of scope to figure out the exact shape of this role alongside our existing team.

The goal

Help us turn Transmission into the #1 energy podcast in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Source and secure high-calibre guests across the energy, finance, and technology sectors in the US.
  • Manage guest outreach, briefing, scheduling, and communication before and after each recording.
  • Coordinate studio logistics - including space setup, recording bookings, and on-the-day guest experience.
  • Write and circulate creative briefs - ensuring alignment between hosts, editors, and the broader content team.
  • Collaborate with in-house and external video editors to ensure professional-quality full episodes and shorts.
  • Oversee publishing - shownotes, thumbnails, uploads, and release scheduling.
  • Monitor podcast performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Take a leading role in the growth and marketing strategy of Transmission.
  • Represent Transmission at relevant industry events and develop relationships with potential future guests.
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming studio environment in Modo Energy’s New York office.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience producing podcasts, radio, or comparable long-form content.
  • Demonstrated experience managing guest booking, pre-production, and recording logistics.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of narrative flow and the ability to shape compelling conversations.
  • Proven experience collaborating with editors and creatives to achieve polished, professional results.
  • Ability to interpret and act on podcast performance data.
  • Interest in - or curiosity about - energy, finance, or technology sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating strong learning and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills That Stand Out

  • Prior experience developing B2B or thought-leadership content.
  • Familiarity with podcast distribution tools (Spotify for Podcasters, YouTube Studio, Riverside, etc.).
  • Understanding of how creative content supports brand growth and audience development.
  • Existing network within energy, climate, or finance sectors.

Important Details

  • For New York Applicants, the salary range for this position is 95,000 – 130,000 USD per year depending on experience.
  • We are an in-person company that values collaboration and team culture. Everyone works in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility to work from home or the office on Mondays and Fridays.
  • 25 days annual leave; medical, dental and vision benefits; 401k with optional matching contribution.
