Project Manager - Core Banking System - 2-Year Engagement

Location: Amman, Jordan.
Years of Experience: 15+ years.
Project Duration: 2 years.
Working Arrangement: on-site.
Language Requirements: Fluency in Arabic & English (written and spoken).

 

 

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Core Banking System to lead the delivery of a large-scale banking technology transformation program involving the implementation of a modern core banking platform. The role will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of implementation activities across multiple workstreams including system configuration, integration, testing, and deployment. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, technology vendors, and implementation partners to ensure successful program delivery aligned with business objectives and governance standards.


Key Requirements

 

  • Minimum 14 years of experience
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale core banking system implementation projects
  • Experience managing end-to-end system implementation lifecycles, including planning, design, configuration, testing, and deployment
  • Strong knowledge of core banking architecture, modules, and banking operations
  • Familiarity with core banking implementation methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks
  • Experience managing project risks, issues, and change control
  • Experience ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets
  • Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery approaches

Other Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of Core Banking System implementation projects

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and delivery roadmaps

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators

  • Oversee system design, configuration, customization, integration, testing, and deployment

  • Manage project governance processes, including steering committee reporting and milestone reviews

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies

  • Ensure effective vendor management and coordination throughout the implementation lifecycle

  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security standards, and internal policies
  • Monitor project performance against scope, budget, timeline, and quality metrics

  • Lead user training strategy development

  • Support go-live planning, deployment activities, and post-implementation stabilization

  • Provide regular project status updates and reports to executive stakeholders

  • Ensure alignment between technology implementation and business process transformation
