Instructional Designer

The Opportunity


We’re seeking a highly creative and experienced Instructional Designer to join our global enablement organization. This person will be responsible for developing content to set our customers up for success and ensure our customers get the most value from our solutions.
You’ll partner cross-functionally with stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business objectives into purpose-built customer enablement and training content, with measurable outcomes. Your scope of responsibilities will include creating and editing content, videos, audio and other learning artifacts, conducting an analysis of course goals, objectives and outcomes, conducting course design meetings with subject matter experts, successfully developing and deploying content, delivering workshops as well as one-on-one consulting with course instructors, and
developing best practices resources for course instructors.


We are a "virtual team", distributed globally, telecommuting via the internet. We make heavy use of email, Slack, the web, and similar remote technologies. Prior experience in this form of working environment is ideal.

Responsibilities

  • Using a variety of modalities, translate complex technical information and develop content that’s easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Manager of Customer Enablement and Training in the curricular development, and the design of hybrid and online courses as well as the support of in-person courses with technology enhancements
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to conceptualize and develop enablement content, prioritized based on customer and business needs
  • Ensure content is up-to-date and in alignment with product releases
  • Apply appropriate instructional design theories to instructional scenarios
  • Validate content with quality control testing
  • Provide regular feedback to subject matter experts
  • Contribute editorial input for continued improvement of content Effectively communicate and manage project timelines, deliverables, and resourcing needs with leadership and ensure content is delivered on time and within scope Create, manage and support content within the learning management system
  • Review class evaluations and act upon data to improve class and curriculum delivery


Qualifications

  • 5+ years database industry experience
  • 5+ years in designing and developing online courses
  • 2+ years technical writing experience, preferably with customer-facing content
  • Experience with Articulate 360 and other authoring and design tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality
  • English proficient or native speaker
  • Experience developing instructional materials for learning management systems (preferably Docebo)
  • Ability to be flexible in work assignments that may require changing priorities regularly
  • Capable of accepting and sharing meaningful peer feedback
  • Strategic thinker and problem-solver capable of navigating ambiguity and change
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet project deadlines, stay on track, and communicate workflow obstacles
  • Ability to be proactive, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and work independently
  • Experience in Google Apps, including but not limited to Google Docs, Google Sheets,
  • Google Forms, Google Drive and Gmail

Bonus Experience and Skills

  • Experience managing and uploading content to an LMS (preferably Docebo)
  • Passion for serving customers and creative technical problem solving abilities and initiatives
  • Ability to manage deliverables to completion, including quality control testing
  • Experience designing graphical elements

Location: US - Remote 

Compensation:

The annual anticipated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is USD $85,000 - $100,000.

Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies.

In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than the job description as posted.
