Senior .NET Engineer - Centralized Orchestration, Monitoring and Management Services
ID Quantique (IDQ) as part of IONQ, is a global leader in quantum-safe communications and quantum detection systems. We provide solutions to protect governments, telecommunication infrastructures, and banking & financial institutions from the “harvest-now, decrypt-later” threat, delivering both terrestrial and space-based quantum-safe networks in live operation globally. Our Quantum Detection Systems push the limits of single-photon detection, powering breakthroughs in quantum communication, sensing, computing, and ultra-sensitive imaging in partnership with top researchers and tech innovators worldwide.
What to expect
We are seeking a Senior .NET Engineer - Centralized Orchestration, Monitoring & Management Services to join our dynamic team in Geneva.
In this role you will design, implement and maintain centralized backend services that orchestrate, monitor, and manage a quantum network. These services track topology and device state, execute configuration and workflow operations, and expose operator and integration APIs. You will also contribute to the plugin platform that extends business capabilities through stable, versioned APIs.
What you'll be doing
- Implement core orchestration services for topology and node lifecycle management, configuration rollout, and path computation, aligned with the external device-management APIs and contracts exposed by the device-side Web API.
- Develop the plugin hosting model (registration, capability discovery, lifecycle, isolation) and provide a clean SDK for plugin developers, enforcing separation of concerns between the generic core and business modules.
- Build observability-first services: metrics, logs, and traces with OpenTelemetry; emit meaningful events for operations dashboards and reliability workflows.
- Harden identity and access integration (for example: Keycloak with OpenID Connect): token scopes/roles, multi-tenant boundaries, and service-to-service mutual TLS.
- Ensure production-grade quality: unit/contract/integration tests, performance and resiliency testing, and CI/CD quality gates (review, scanning, and automation).
What you'll bring
- 8+ years in .NET backend, with distributed systems and event/async patterns.
- Strong .NET backend engineering skills (ASP.NET Core, C#) with practical experience building and operating production services; familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience building SDKs or frameworks for thirdparty plugins.
You'll be a great fit with
- Graph/path computation, network controllers, or telecom OSS/BSS experience.
- Security-intensive systems (credential rotation, mTLS, least privilege).
- SDN/controller concepts and network management protocols (for example: NETCONF/YANG); experience with PKI in service-to-service environments.
- Familiar with device-to-platform messaging patterns (for example: SignalR, MQTT) and control-plane messaging.
