As a global leader in Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs), we enable the scaling of next-generation quantum technologies.

IDQ is looking for a Detector Test Technician to join its SNSPD team in Geneva. This is a hands-on position focused on testing and characterizing SNSPD devices. The role is well suited for a rigorous and motivated candidate who enjoys experimental work, precise measurements, and contributing to product quality and scalability. The position involves close interaction with R&D, industrialization, and production teams to ensure that test results are reliable, well documented, and directly usable for device improvement and production decisions.

What you'll be doing

  • Test and characterize SNSPD devices according to defined procedures and performance specifications.
  • Perform measurements on a large number of devices to assess yield and compliance with specifications.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain cryogenic, optical, and electronic test setups.
  • Support metrology activities, including optimization and scaling of measurement setups.
  • Record, analyze, and report test data in a clear and structured manner.
  • Work closely with R&D, industrialization, and production teams to ensure timely feedback and alignment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of measurement procedures, test infrastructure, and device handling.

You'll be a great fit with

  • A Technical degree (CFC, HES, Bachelor’s, or equivalent) in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory or industrial environment is essential.
  • Experience in optics or metrology is a strong plus.
  • Strong interest in experimental work, measurements, and hardware-oriented problem solving.
  • Rigorous, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset for improving processes and setups. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Fluency in both English and French.
