What to expect

Reporting to the Facilities Manager  you will join our Global Real Estate and Site Services team at ID Quantique in Geneva. The team is responsible for delivering safe, efficient and well-maintained working environments that support the development of world-leading quantum technologies.

As Facilities Manager, you will oversee the operational and infrastructural management of our Geneva headquarters, production facility and a satellite office in Lausanne. This is a varied, hands-on role requiring both strong facilities management expertise and the willingness to tackle practical maintenance tasks where appropriate. Working within a fast-paced, international environment, you will lead local facilities operations, manage external contractors and ensure our sites remain safe, compliant and operational at all times.

  • Lead facilities operations across three Swiss locations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant working environments that support business operations.

  • Drive operational excellence through preventative maintenance, contractor management, budgeting, health and safety, physical security and continuous improvement.

  • Manage and develop the local facilities team while building strong relationships with employees, suppliers and stakeholders across the business.

What you'll be doing

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of facilities operations across all Geneva-area locations, acting as the primary point of contact for facility-related matters. You will coordinate maintenance activities, manage vendors and projects, oversee access control and physical security, and ensure all sites comply with Swiss regulations and IonQ policies.

Alongside strategic planning and administration, you will maintain a hands-on approach by carrying out minor repairs where appropriate, responding to operational issues and supporting the wider facilities team to ensure uninterrupted service.

  • Manage maintenance programmes, facilities requests, contractor performance, site inspections, minor refurbishment projects, budgets, purchasing and facilities administration across multiple locations.

  • Own physical security, access control, emergency procedures, occupational health and safety (KOPAS), regulatory compliance and business continuity for the Geneva sites.

  • Lead, coach and support the local facilities team, ensuring effective prioritisation, cross-cover and consistently high service standards.

What you'll bring

You are an experienced Facilities Manager with a proven track record of managing multi-site operations within professional, industrial or technical environments. You combine practical technical knowledge with excellent organisational and communication skills, and are equally comfortable managing strategic priorities or carrying out hands-on maintenance tasks when required.

You enjoy working in a collaborative international environment, take ownership of your responsibilities and build strong relationships with colleagues, contractors and external partners.

  • At least five years' experience in facilities management or operations, supported by a technical background and formal qualifications in Facilities Management, building services or a related discipline, together with fluent English and French.

  • Experience managing facilities within industrial, manufacturing, laboratory or other technical environments, including preventative maintenance, contractor management, budgeting, compliance and health and safety.

  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills, together with a hands-on approach, experience using facilities management software and a valid Category B driving licence.

Experience within technology, research or life sciences organisations would be advantageous, together with exposure to physical security systems and team leadership.

  • German language skills, experience within technology, research or life sciences organisations, and knowledge of access control or CCTV systems would be advantageous.

  • Previous experience supervising facilities or support staff and developing high-performing teams.

  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach with the flexibility and initiative to adapt to changing operational priorities.
