Assistant Merchandiser
As an Assistant Merchant, you’ll support your manager with everything from data entry to sample management, helping to keep the commercial process and in-season trading running smoothly. You’ll learn by doing, and you’ll even take ownership of your own category (like shorts), with guidance from your manager along the way.
Each season, you’ll help build the category line plan, working closely with designers to identify upcoming trends, fresh styles, and product innovations. Once the product hits stores or online, you’ll dive into sales data to figure out what’s performing and where there’s room to grow.
You’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle, across channels and markets, gaining real, hands-on experience in both the creative and strategic sides of merchandising.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- PLM: Support manager in data entry in PLM ensuring accuracy across various product attributions
- Samples: Manage pre-season and in-season sample organization and set up across various weekly, monthly and seasonal meetings
- Market: Maintain understanding of competitive landscape; sharing insights with manager and broader team to impact assortment decisions to ensure Gymshark continues to lead in the gym apparel market
- Line Planning: Support manager in building out seasonal line plan for your respective category, executing strategies set by merchandising team.
- Investment: Partner with planning counterpart to ensure data and financial plan accuracy for their category
- Trade: Support manager in analyzing in-season product performance across sales & inventory KPIs
- GTM: Partner with manager to build go-to-market packs; communicating key seasonal stories to support marketing, stores and site
- Tools/Systems: Support manager in creating and managing seasonal assortment tools for category.
- Customer Centricity: Be the voice of the consumer; staying close to the customer’s evolving needs and ensuring assortment shifts to support these
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Essential Criteria:
- 1-2 years merchandising experience
- Skilled in Excel and building PowerPoint decks
- Ability to manage day-to-day merchandising tasks, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members and other functions
- Understanding of current trends, consumer preferences and competitor activities
- Passion for customer centricity and continued understanding of evolving customer needs
- Driven for results with commercial acumen and ability to analyze complex data sets
WHAT YOU COULD ALSO HAVE:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role
- Experience working internationally with strong knowledge of how to meet the needs of a local consumer while maintaining the integrity of a Brand
- Acumen and appreciation for fashion trends
- A love of the Gym and living an active lifestyle
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSNYC

This role has a salary range between $63,000-$75,000. The base pay offered is based on market, experience, and skills.
