Senior eCommerce Trading Manager (12m-15m FTC)

OVERVIEW:
Are you ready to take the reins and drive commercial success? In this role, you’ll be leading the charge to optimise revenue and profit, using your sharp insight into trading performance and market dynamics to make a real impact.

As a senior member of the Digital team, you'll partner cross-functionally across eCommerce, Insights, Marketing, Product, Tech, Merchandising, and Commercial Finance to ensure that every digital touchpoint is strategically aligned and commercially impactful.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Trading Strategy & Execution
• Lead weekly and seasonal trading analysis across key markets, identifying opportunities and risks with clear commercial actions.
• Shape and deliver the trading calendar in line with category strategies, promotions, and market events.
• Partner with Commercial and Merch teams to optimise product performance, sell-through, and stock alignment.

On-site Performance & Optimisation
• Support test-and-learn initiatives to boost conversion, engagement, and category performance.
• Analyse customer journeys to inform content and UX improvements.
• Influence the digital roadmap through commercial insights and feature recommendations.

Cross-functional Leadership
• Connect commercial, creative, and technical teams for seamless trading execution.
• Align campaigns with trading priorities to maximise impact.
• Deliver timely reporting and actionable performance insights.

Market Insight & Competitive Analysis
• Track trends, competitors, and customer behaviour to inform strategy.
• Identify regional growth opportunities.

Team Leadership & Development
• Coach and develop team capabilities in commercial and analytical skills.
• Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and accountability. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a trading or eCommerce role, preferably within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret trading data to inform decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce KPIs, user behavior analytics, and digital merchandising.
  • Proficient in site analytics tools (e.g. GA4, Looker).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Agile mindset with a test-and-learn approach to continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working across international markets.
  • Familiarity with digital trading platforms, CMS, and A/B testing tools.
  • Background in consumer-led digital product and UX development.

Note; This is a 12m-15m contract depending on notice periods and timelines, we will discuss during the process.

This role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
