QA Automation Engineer (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

They are building a cloud-based SaaS collaboration platform that transforms how life sciences companies and global health authorities interact: ensuring safer, faster, and more efficient delivery of treatments to market.
Project Description
The team is developing a secure and scalable SaaS solution that supports collaboration, analytics, and compliance for the life sciences industry. The platform is hosted in Azure and adheres to cloud-first development practices. The QA Automation Team is responsible for testing both front-end (React.js web application) and back-end (REST/GraphQL APIs) systems, with a strong focus on automated testing.

What You'll Do
- Design and implement automated test cases for UI, APIs, and system components using Playwright and TypeScript;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, DevOps, product managers) to ensure comprehensive test coverage;
- Conduct manual testing where automation does not yet exist;
- Participate in acceptance testing of third-party components integrated into the platform;
- Continuously improve and scale the test automation framework;
- Estimate test efforts and proactively identify gaps in coverage;
- Document and maintain test procedures, guidelines, and results;
- Stay updated with modern QA automation tools and share knowledge with the team.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, specifically for SaaS solutions;
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript;
- Solid experience with Playwright or similar testing frameworks (Cypress, Selenium, Mabl);
- Experience in manual testing and strong understanding of QA processes and best practices;
- Experience testing front-end web applications and back-end APIs (REST & GraphQL);
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and CI/CD processes;
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive mindset and ability to build trust, negotiate, and collaborate across distributed teams;
- English - Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher.
Nice To Have
- Experience with Java or Kotlin;
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., GxP, FDA CFR Part 11, SOC 2);
- Experience with SQL and database testing;
- Knowledge of performance testing tools or practices.
