The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software components that support Cision’s global SaaS platform. This role contributes to the full software development lifecycle and collaborates cross-functionally with teams across regions. The position requires solid technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using modern .NET technologies
- Contribute to the evolution of a microservices architecture using Clean/Onion principles
- Develop and optimize data ingestion and integration pipelines
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams across multiple countries
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, 2-week sprints, quarterly planning)
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance and reliability
- Support deployment processes and contribute to CI/CD pipelines
- Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Work on both new features and legacy system improvements
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development
- Strong knowledge of .NET Core and C#
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving
- Experience or exposure to microservices architecture
- Familiarity with cloud environments and modern development practices
- Experience with tools such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of SQL Server or similar relational databases
- Comfortable working in Agile environments
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken)
Nice to have:
- Experience with Apache Kafka, ElasticSearch / SOLR
- Familiarity with Grafana (Loki, Prometheus)
- Exposure to Argo CD / GitHub Actions
- Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
