Business Designer

AVATR is looking for a Business Designer to join our growing team in Munich. As a Business Designer, you act as the critical link between market understanding, customer needs, product strategy, and car design. Working in a highly collaborative team, you combine analytical thinking with creative facilitation to shape future products and services. You ensure that design decisions are grounded in solid business insights while enabling a structured yet flexible framework for the creative process. Operating within a German subsidiary of a Chinese OEM, you will play a key role in bridging cultural, strategic, and operational perspectives between local and headquarters stakeholders.

 

What You Will Do:

Customer & Market Insights

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to identify customer needs, behaviors, and trends in international markets
• Translate insights into actionable opportunities for product and service innovation
• Monitor competitive landscape and emerging mobility trends

Customer-Centric Methodologies

• Plan, support, and facilitate customer clinics, workshops
• Apply user-centered design methods to validate concepts and gather feedback

Product Strategy & Planning

• Support the development of product strategies aligned with market needs and brand positioning
• Contribute to product roadmaps and business case development

Stakeholder Alignment (Germany & China)

• Act as an interface between local teams in Germany and headquarters in China
• Align strategic objectives, and expectations across regions
• Prepare and communicate insights, concepts, and recommendations to diverse stakeholders

Design Process Enablement

• Provide frameworks, tools, and structured inputs to support the design team’s creative work
• Ensure that design concepts are aligned with business goals and customer insights

 

What You Will Bring:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Design, Research, Innovation Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 3–6 years of experience in business design, strategy, innovation, or product planning in automotive or mobility sector
• Strong expertise in user research, market analysis, and insight generation, including familiarity with customer clinics and design thinking approaches
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable concepts
• Proven experience working in cross-cultural environments, with strong intercultural competence and stakeholder management skills (experience with China-based stakeholders is a plus)
• Strong facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills, with a structured yet flexible mindset to support creative processes
• Fluent in English, German is a strong advantage, Chinese is a plus
