Commercial Contracts Consultant

Dallas, TX | Uptown | Hybrid

CMC, part of Amoria Group, is looking for a commercially minded Commercial Contracts Consultant to join our growing US business.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is interested in commercial contracts, negotiation and how businesses work. You don't need years of contracts experience, we're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, good commercial instincts, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to learn.

You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance and senior leadership, supporting the contract process from initial review through to negotiation, approval and execution. Over time, you'll develop a strong understanding of commercial agreements, contractual risk and how contracts work in practice.

Please note: We are not seeking a lawyer, attorney or paralegal. This is a commercial and operational contracts role, focused on supporting the business, understanding commercial priorities, identifying potential risks and helping teams reach practical agreements.

What You'll Do

Support the Contract Process

  • Support the end-to-end contract process across the US business, from initial review through negotiation, approval and execution.
  • Review a range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, client terms, amendments, contractor agreements and other commercial documentation.
  • Work with Sales and internal stakeholders to understand contractual requirements and ensure agreements are progressed efficiently.
  • Help ensure contracts are accurately documented, approved and stored in line with company processes.
  • Build your knowledge of commercial contracts and develop confidence in reviewing contractual terms.

Support Sales & Commercial Negotiations

  • Work closely with Sales teams during contract negotiations and help them understand key contractual requirements.
  • Review proposed client terms and flag clauses that may create commercial, financial, operational or contractual risk.
  • Support discussions around contractual terms and help identify practical solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of how contractual commitments can affect the wider business.
  • Help Sales teams progress agreements while ensuring appropriate risks are identified and escalated.

Identify & Manage Risk

  • Learn to identify areas of contractual exposure and highlight potential issues before they become problems.
  • Develop an understanding of clauses relating to liability, indemnification, payment terms, termination, warranties, insurance, confidentiality, intellectual property and contractual obligations.
  • Escalate material or complex issues to senior colleagues or specialist legal support where appropriate.
  • Work with Finance, Operations and Compliance to understand whether contractual commitments can be delivered effectively.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to have previously worked in a dedicated contracts role. What we're looking for is:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in a subject such as Business, Finance, Economics, Law, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
  • A genuine interest in business, commercial agreements, negotiation and how companies operate.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies or issues in written information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The confidence to ask questions, challenge information and seek clarification when something doesn't make sense.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to learn.
  • Good commercial awareness and an interest in understanding how decisions affect a business.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude and the willingness to take ownership as your knowledge develops.

What We Offer

  • Hybrid working environment with flexibility and autonomy
  • Monthly lunch clubs and team social events
  • Personal development allowance to support your career growth
  • Opportunity to attend two international company conferences each year
  • Employee-led culture committees and initiatives
  • Access to professional development and leadership training programmes
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with wellbeing and mental health support for you and your family
