ABOUT THE ROLE:

PLC Developers design, develop, and maintain industrial automation solutions using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). In this role, you will primarily work on PLC programming for industrial and automation systems, while also having the opportunity to contribute to other software-related projects depending on business needs and project availability.
As we are an outsourcing company with a diverse technology stack, we value professionals who are open to learning and occasionally working with technologies beyond PLC programming. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy automation, problem-solving, and continuous learning in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

PLC DEVELOPER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, program, and maintain PLC applications for industrial automation systems.
• Program PLCs using IEC 61131-3 standard languages, including:
   o Ladder Diagram (LD)
   o Structured Text (ST)
   o Function Block Diagram (FBD)
   o Sequential Function Chart (SFC)
   o Instruction List (IL) (mainly for legacy systems)

• Configure, test, and troubleshoot automation systems to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with automation engineers, electricians, and other stakeholders during project execution.
• Participate in commissioning, debugging, and optimization of PLC-controlled systems.
• Maintain technical documentation related to PLC programs and system configurations.
• Work alongside software engineers on multidisciplinary projects when needed.
• Understand system-level interactions between hardware, control software, and higher-level applications.
• Contribute to projects from concept through implementation and deployment.
• Stay up to date with developments in industrial automation and software technologies.

PLC DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with PLC programming in industrial or automation environments.
• Preferable hands-on experience with Mitsubishi PLCs and GX Works2 / GX Works3, but not mandatory.
• Previous experience with Mitsubishi PLC platforms (e.g., MELSEC iQ-R, iQ-F, FX series) it’s a plus.
• Solid knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages, especially Ladder Diagram (LD) and Structured Text (ST).
• Ability to analyze automation requirements and translate them into reliable control logic.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to code quality and system safety.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS:

• Basic experience or interest in software development beyond PLC programming.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following:
   o Frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, Vue
   o Backend technologies: Python, Java, C#, PHP, Ruby
   o Databases: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB
   o API concepts or system integrations
• Experience working in an outsourcing or project-based environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to different types of projects.
