Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales)

The Job: 

You will be the first solutions engineer in APAC Region at Vertice and serve as the key technical point of contact throughout the pre-sales process for our solution suite. Your role is to advocate for Vertice, guiding prospective customers in understanding how our platform delivers value to their operations and fits within their procurement and technical framework. You will collaborate closely with account executives and sales managers to drive deals forward, acting as a true partner in the sales process.

You will build trusted relationships with prospects, ensuring they have confidence in Vertice’s ability to solve their challenges. By translating their needs to our post-sales solutions consultants, you will also contribute to seamless deployments. As a subject matter expert on our product capabilities and roadmap, you will collect and share customer feedback to help shape product development and assist sales teams in articulating new solutions and enhancements effectively.

You thrive on solving problems creatively, whether developing tailored solutions for customers or contributing to the growth and improvement of our solutions engineering function. You will play a key role in evolving our solution-selling strategy as we continue to grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively drive revenue by supporting prospective client interactions, leading discovery sessions, demonstrating our products, addressing questions, and overcoming objections to showcase the value of choosing Vertice.
  • Take ownership of customer inquiries, including follow-up discussions, demonstrations, RFx, and questionnaires.
  • Conducting Proof of concepts (POC) for our customers to showcase the value of our products.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to achieve our sales goals.
  • Collaborate internally with our technical teams (Product & Engineering) to address complex technical requirements to achieve business outcomes.   
  • Work closely with Post-Sales Solutions Consultants to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation, aligning on customer needs and expectations for successful onboarding.
  • Provide feedback to help improve our processes and products as we scale.

Requirements:

  • Strong solution-selling and demo skills with the ability to articulate the value of software solutions, focusing on how they address key customer pain points and differentiate themselves in the market.
  • Excellent discovery skills, guiding customers through structured conversations to uncover pain points and value.
  • A solution-oriented mindset focused on helping customers envision how our product meets their specific needs.
  • Demonstrated time management skills in a dynamic sales environment; you will manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of key technical concepts including APIs.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Self-starter who quickly learns new technologies.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in a solution-selling environment or a similar role with transferable skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge of software integration principles and experience with key finance and procurement tools
  • Experience working with, finance, technical and/or procurement stakeholders
