Director, Solutions (Pre- & Post-Sales)

Your Role


As the Director of Solutions at Vertice, you will oversee and build out our newly formed pre- and post-sales teams, guiding them to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive the success of our customers across our suite of solutions.

You will lead and mentor a growing team as well as get hands-on with technical delivery, setting the direction and standards for solution engineering, implementation, and customer satisfaction. 

Working closely with sales and customer success teams, you will ensure that our customers experience seamless transitions throughout their journey with Vertice. Additionally, you will collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence our roadmap based on customer feedback, helping Vertice continue to deliver world-class solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and build out our early pre-sales and post-sales teams, ensuring alignment across teams and delivering on both sales and customer success objectives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to both prospective and existing customers, helping them understand how Vertice’s solutions can meet their procurement, financial, and technical needs.
  • Oversee the pre-sales process, ensuring that Solutions Engineers effectively conduct discovery sessions, demonstrate our products, and address customer inquiries to drive deals forward.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff between pre-sales and post-sales, overseeing the implementation process and ensuring that customer needs are translated into successful product deployment.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to your team, helping them refine their skills in solution selling, technical implementation, and project management.
  • Drive customer satisfaction post-sale, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through the configuration, customization, and adoption of our solutions.
  • Lead the development of scalable processes for onboarding and implementation of our products to ensure an excellent customer experience.
  • Gather customer feedback and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence product development and enhancements.
  • Continuously improve team processes and methodologies to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience, with 5+ years of experience in a technical solutions engineering or consulting role and 3+ years in a leadership or management position.
  • Strong technical background, with experience in software configuration, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience in a high-growth environment
  • Proven track record of managing pre-sales and/or post-sales functions, delivering results across the customer lifecycle.
  • Expertise in solution selling with the ability to articulate the value of software products in addressing key customer pain points.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with a passion to drive revenue and customer satisfaction.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with cloud cost optimization or procurement solutions.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and procure-to-pay systems.
  • Experience with finance or procurement tools such as Coupa, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, Workday, NetSuite, and others.
