Junior Accountant

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Malta. You’ll play a vital role in managing our financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting our reporting activities. If you have a strong understanding of accounting principles, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment — this role is for you.

This is a fully on-site role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure total accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure cash balance and transaction accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external tax advisors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filings.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
• Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within financial operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a relevant accounting role (3+ years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative team-player mindset.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) or progress towards one is considered a plus.
