About the Role:
ShipMonk is seeking a talented and strategic e-commerce Tech Solutions Architect to join our fast-growing team. In this critical, customer-facing role, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the entire merchant lifecycle — from pre-sales discovery through onboarding and beyond. Your mission is to bridge the gap between our robust fulfillment platform and the unique technical needs of each merchant, ensuring smooth integration, efficient operations, and long-term success.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Merchant Process Analysis: Assess and dissect a merchant’s fulfillment workflows, identifying optimization opportunities and aligning them with ShipMonk's capabilities.
• Product & Platform Mastery: Acquire deep knowledge of ShipMonk’s product offerings and how they apply to varying merchant use cases and tech ecosystems.
• Tech Ecosystem Fluency: Familiarity with leading eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, Magento), ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, Acumatica), and automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Celigo).
• Integration Design & Architecture: Design scalable multi-system workflows, leveraging APIs, webhooks, and no-code tools to enable robust, automated integrations.
• Pre-Sales Consultation: Support the sales team by presenting technical solutions persuasively, fielding API questions, and helping prospective clients visualize success with ShipMonk.
• Onboarding & Implementation: Work closely with merchants during onboarding to ensure a seamless technical setup, including systems integration, data mapping, and workflow testing.
• Proactive Support & Troubleshooting: Anticipate common pain points across industries and tech stacks, responding quickly to technical roadblocks with thoughtful, well-communicated solutions.
• Data-Driven Justification: Leverage internal BI tools and performance analytics to validate technical recommendations and implementation strategies.
• API & Data Fluency: Comfortably respond to detailed API inquiries, articulate how data flows between systems, and escalate appropriately when edge cases arise.
• Effective Communication: Tailor technical messaging for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and confidence across all merchant engagements.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales teams to communicate merchant needs and drive solution prioritization.
• Project Ownership: Independently manage multiple merchant-facing technical projects, balancing timelines, expectations, and complexity with strategic escalation when needed.
• Customer Empathy & Business Alignment: Keep the merchant’s success at the center of every solution, ensuring technical decisions align with their goals and ShipMonk’s strategic direction.
