In 2017, the three founders of Send (Andy Moss, Ben Huckel, and Matt McGrillis) had a vision to reshape and enhance the underwriting processes of commercial insurers by combining advanced technology with deep industry expertise.
We are a SaaS enterprise software company specializing in the commercial & specialty insurance sector.
Our purpose is to empower underwriters to "write better business, faster" on a global scale.
How do we do that?
With an AI-enabled underwriting platform built for the complex commercial and specialty market. Our workbench is a one-
stop solution for underwriters, offering data, documentation, and decision points all in one place. We help our customers easily take advantage of ecosystem integrations, data, and AI to fuel their next stage of growth. The future of underwriting will demand operational efficiency and underwriting effectiveness—Send delivers both.
Our deep expertise in insurance, coupled with strong relationships with sector-leading customers, enables us to innovate ahead of the market.
In 2019, Send launched a commercial and specialty Underwriting Workbench for a leading global insurer (a major FTSE 100 carrier and one of the UK’s top five composite insurers) – streamlining operations, driving efficiencies, and providing forward visibility.
Over the next five years, we implemented multiple Underwriting Workbench solutions across the UK and US markets.
In 2022, Send won three awards for Underwriting Workbench and raised $10M in Series A funding to expand in the UK and US.
In 2023, we launched ‘Smart Submission,’ a stand-alone component of the Underwriting Workbench, helping insurers tackle submission chaos. That same year, Send was recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide P&C Intelligent Underwriting Workbench Applications 2023 Vendor Assessment, with our ‘financial stability and growth’ noted as a key strength.
In 2024, we were named a Top Provider in the Datos P&C Workbench report and a Leader in the Celent Underwriting Workbench reports for both North American and global markets. We also won the IBUK’s 2024 Top Insurance Employers award.
With a growing pipeline of opportunities in multiple geographies, we continue to report year-on-year growth. Our vision is to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile carriers.

Over the past 18 months, Send has experienced remarkable growth, expanding by over 50% to a team of 80+. At the start of 2023, our team was primarily based in the UK and Poland. We have since taken significant strides toward establishing a global presence, now with team members across the US and India, all working collaboratively to be the market-leading underwriting software platform for agile insurers.
Our team is the key to our success, which is why we're continually investing in employee experience and culture. 🚀 Our Funding
From 2017 to 2022, we bootstrapped our growth journey, transforming into a profitable and stable company. In November 2022, after a year of customer and team growth, we secured $10M in Series A funding to accelerate expansion in the UK and US and further develop our product. We are backed by the support and expertise of our investors, Mercia and Breega.
We are currently preparing for our Series B funding round and are excited about the growth acceleration this will facilitat.
