As Lead Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class design solutions for Sedna’s transformative products. Reporting to the Vice President of Product, you will lead the design vision for our platform, which is trusted by industry leaders in maritime, logistics, and commodities. You will drive innovation in user experience and user interface design, focusing on solving the complex challenges of global trade communication. Design leadership and strategy

• Define the design vision and strategy for Sedna’s platform, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and user needs.
• Establish and maintain design systems and processes that drive consistency across the product suite.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to champion user-centred design principles.

UX and UI design

• Deliver innovative and intuitive design solutions for complex workflows within Sedna’s platform.
• Develop concepts, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, iterating based on user research and feedback.
• Simplify interactions while maintaining depth and clarity in addressing global trade and communication challenges.

User research and insights

• Lead user research initiatives to uncover insights about customer workflows, pain points, and behaviours.
• Translate research findings into actionable design strategies that resonate with diverse user personas.

Collaboration and mentorship

• Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate and timely implementation of design deliverables.
• Mentor more junior designers and cultivate a culture of excellence, innovation, and creativity within the design team.

 

Market awareness and innovation

• Stay ahead of trends in SaaS and product design, communication tools, and enterprise software.
• Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies, such as AI-driven insights, into Sedna’s user experience.

 

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Lead Product Designer at Sedna. The Lead Product Designer will be responsible for overseeing the visual design, design thinking, user research, product design, and UX research aspects of projects. This role is located in the London office United Kingdom, with flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in delivering world-class UX/UI design solutions, especially for complex systems.
• User-centred thinking - strong knowledge of human-computer interaction principles and usability best practices.
• Experience conducting and leveraging user research to inform design decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
• Proven experience in product design, including experience in roles within SaaS or enterprise software environments.
