Head of Business Architecture
Head of Business Architecture, Permanent, London
The Head of Business Architecture ensures design and implementation of the organisation’s target operating model, ultimately enabling and protecting delivery of the future Pay.UK organisation and service delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work closely with Architecture team to understand / define enterprise architecture / target operating model and define associated programme delivery shaping / oversight, in alignment with business areas as appropriate
- Oversee programme team of business readiness professionals
- Ensure that operating model integration and assurance risks are managed and that solutions meet business and regulatory requirements
- Work with portfolio office to ensure evaluation of operating model embedment
- Build relationships with internal, external, and third-party suppliers
- Detect and escalate major operating model issues for resolution
- Work cohesively with the Programme delivery teams, giving and receiving advice, coaching and feedback
- Deputises for Head of Architecture, Technology Director and Next Generation Programme Manager where required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Relevant technology qualification or relevant experience
- Extensive experience in implementing business transformation initiatives for large-scale programs valued at over £40 million and involving high complexity
- Experience of operating model development and embedment
- Proficient stakeholder management experience at all levels of an organisation, including Executive levels
- Understanding of Pay.UK regulatory requirements
- Knowledge and experience of financial services or payments sector
- Proficient business change skills and ability to work at high level and detailed level whilst ensuring target operating model design is implemented
- Expert planning and coordination skills and the ability to assess complex requirements and translate them into effective solutions
- Resilience and the ability to handle multiple pressing priorities
- Effective communication and persuasion techniques, understanding the needs senior leaders face to facilitate business-led decisions
- Willingness and readiness to adjust in evolving work environments
- Ability to write and present Executive and Board level reports.
