Technical Project Manager, 6 Months' Contract (Inside IR35), London
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of our strategic programmes and oversee one (or more) of our Faster Payments (FPS) or Bacs projects. This role is highly suitable for an experienced Technical Senior Project Manager, who is used to managing one or more complex projects, whilst collaborating with a larger programme. As a Technical Project Manager, we will look to you to bring your breadth of experience across both Payments and Project delivery to pursue your deliverables and shared knowledge and insight with your colleagues and the wider programme.
Key Accountabilities
- Own and maintain the project plan and represents the agreement with the stakeholders in relation to scope, quality of outcome, timeline, cost and potential for benefits realisation
- Facilitate supplier workshops to drive forward delivery planning
- Ensure governance standards are adhered to. To report regularly to the sponsor and steering committee on progress according to plan, outlook, and any intervention that may be required
- Manage project risks, issues and dependencies, declare and test any assumptions on which the project plan is based
- Assist the sponsor and key stakeholders, in the production of business cases that clearly show how the undertaking is aligned with the strategic roadmap
- Develop positive working relationships with all key stakeholders internally and externally
- Build, support and motivate the project team, liaising with resource owners as appropriate to ensure any line management matters (such as career development, learning etc.) are catered for to the extent
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Experience of both large (100+ colleagues) technical programmes – delivering in collaboration with other Senior PMs
- Experience of managing project delivery or business change in Retail Banking, Payments or Financial Services
- Breadth of experience in managing project delivery or business change in Retail Banking, Payments or Financial Services
- Background and knowledge of Retail Payments (i.e. Bacs, FPS, ICS)
- Facilitate supplier workshops for delivery planning
- Effective delivery of a variety of business and IT projects in a commercial and regulated environment
- Managing a mixed technical and business team in a project (i.e. temporary and on a matrix basis) environment
- Stakeholder management and relationship building at all levels
- Presentation and communication skills
- Good communicator and influencer, able to take the business on the journey
- Ability to guide senior stakeholders
