Role Overview

The Infrastructure Lead is a field-present owner-side role supporting delivery of a major data centre programme in Portugal. Reporting to the Senior Infrastructure & OFCI Manager, the role provides hands-on oversight across OFCI coordination, equipment integration, site readiness and power infrastructure delivery.

This position will coordinate high-volume OFCI activity from procurement and factory inspection through to logistics, site delivery, acceptance and installation readiness, while maintaining clear owner visibility of compliance, programme risk and delivery status.

The role also provides independent owner oversight of the substation and energisation programme, engaging with all levels of delivery teams to challenge progress, resolve interfaces and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead owner-side OFCI coordination across procurement, manufacturing, FAT, logistics, site delivery, storage and installation readiness.
  • Maintain live Nscale OFCI tracking and acceptance registers, ensuring equipment status, documentation, compliance and delivery risks are clearly reported.
  • Engage directly with site teams, vendors and suppliers to resolve day-to-day interface, logistics, storage and sequencing issues.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify OFCI delivery condition, protection measures, installation progress and readiness for handover.
  • Attend FATs and supplier inspections on behalf of Nscale, reviewing results against specifications and raising NCRs where required.
  • Review key technical information including submittals, shop drawings, O&M documentation, warranties and compliance certificates.
  • Represent Nscale in OFCI and infrastructure governance forums, bringing independent site insight to challenge programme status and reporting.
  • Track OFCI change control, substitutions, late procurement items and NCR resolution, escalating programme impacts as required.
  • Monitor Substation and associated infrastructure delivery to maintain visibility of energisation readiness.
  • Provide concise owner-facing reports based on direct site observations, supplier engagement and governance inputs.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong OFCI programme management experience, including owner-side tracking, vendor engagement and delivery risk management.
  • Hands-on inspection capability across equipment and on-site construction works.
  • Credible site presence, with confidence engaging GC teams, vendors, logistics providers and manufacturer representatives.
  • Working knowledge of substation delivery, grid connection interfaces and large-scale electrical infrastructure. (Advantageous)
  • Ability identify delivery risks across OFCI, infrastructure and construction workstreams.
  • Clear communicator able to represent the owner in governance forums and provide concise reporting.
  • Strong judgement in identifying non-conformance, interface gaps and emerging site risks.

Experience Profile

  • 8–10+ years’ experience in OFCI coordination, infrastructure project management or owner’s representative roles on major construction or critical facilities programmes.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume OFCI packages with a strong field-based delivery component.
  • Hands-on FAT, supplier inspection and site acceptance experience for electrical and/or mechanical plant.
  • Exposure to substations, grid connections or large-scale power infrastructure delivery. (Advantageous)
  • Experience working directly with D&B contractors, specialist vendors and supply chain teams.
