Role Summary
The Head of IT Operations & Information Security ensures Nexxiot’s internal technology infrastructure and security posture support our global growth. You will lead our IT team and external partners to deliver reliable, secure, and user‑friendly systems across all offices. Using Lean principles, you will drive continuous improvement, manage costs, and align IT services with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Budget Management
- Lead and mentor the internal IT Operations team; coordinate third‑party service providers and vendors.
- Plan, monitor, and control IT budgets to optimize cost‑effectiveness and resource allocation.
Systems Stability & Availability
- Ensure reliability and performance of workplace systems (laptops, mobile devices, network, telephony, peripherals).
- Oversee core collaboration and productivity platforms (Office 365, Teams, Slack, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Applications & Collaboration Management
- Manage the full lifecycle of business applications and cloud‑based collaboration platforms—from concept and rollout through daily operation, enhancements, and decommissioning.
- Maintain and support key systems: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Atlassian suite, Pipedrive, Personio, Intune, Defender, and related endpoint tools.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Develop and enforce Lean-inspired processes for incident logging, prioritization, root‑cause analysis, and resolution.
- Implement structured change‑control procedures to minimize disruption and ensure audit readiness.
IT Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead evaluation and deployment of new tools that boost productivity and user experience.
- Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT operations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with all departments to understand daily IT needs and deliver pragmatic, user‑friendly solutions.
- Act as an internal technology consultant, ensuring alignment between IT services and business objectives.
Training & Documentation
- Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing IT training sessions for new hires and existing staff.
- Maintain clear, up‑to‑date documentation of systems, processes, and training materials.
Technology Watch & Security Strategy Support
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices, assessing applicability to Nexxiot’s environment.
- Support the CISO in defining and enforcing the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS), incident response, and compliance audits.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years in IT operations or infrastructure management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in managing cloud-based collaboration platforms (Office 365, Slack, Atlassian) and endpoint management solutions (Intune, Defender).
- Hands‑on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, Pipedrive, and Personio.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) and ISO 27001 requirements.
- Proven track record of implementing Lean or continuous‑improvement methodologies in IT operations.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Clear communicator, able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (ITIL Foundation, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Fluent in English; German proficiency advantageous
