About the Role
Nexxiot is seeking a Legal Working Student to support the Head of Legal across a broad range of legal and operational tasks. This is a hands-on, high-exposure role offering insight into the day-to-day operations of an in-house legal counsel at a fast-paced technology company. You’ll work on real matters, from reviewing contracts and maintaining compliance records to developing and rolling out a structured legal template library. You’ll be expected to take initiative, deliver reliably, and handle both administrative detail and substantive legal content. This role is ideal for someone who is serious about learning, thrives under pressure, and wants a front-row seat to how legal supports a scaling international business.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Review Support
- Review customer mark-ups to Nexxiot’s standard agreements and flag key deviations
- Align third-party documents (e.g., NDAs, consulting agreements) with Nexxiot’s clause library and templates
- Assess commercial implications
Template Development and Rollout
- Help create and maintain a standardized library of legal templates (NDAs, commercial contracts, GTCs, etc.)
- Consolidate and standardize legacy documents into clean, usable formats
- Develop internal tools such as clause banks, guidance notes, and checklists
- Support internal rollout and user adoption of the templates
Contract Management and Filing
- Organize legal documents in SharePoint using standard naming and metadata
- Extract key terms (e.g., renewal, termination rights) for internal trackin
- Cross-check signed versions for completeness and filing consistency
Compliance and Administrative Support
- Upload and label governance documents (e.g., powers of attorney, policies, registry filings)
- Track corporate and regulatory deadlines
- Assist with the preparation of internal training content (e.g., on signing authority, data protection)
Legal Research
- Research legal topics in Swiss/EU/US law
- Benchmark industry practices and summarize findings
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is:
- Proactive, dependable, and highly organized
- Able to work independently and follow through without close supervision
- Comfortable handling both operational detail and substantive legal work
- Motivated to build scalable legal processes and structure from within
- Curious about law, tech, and the role of legal in business execution
- Willing to work hard and learn by doing
- Comfortable asking questions, but accountable for delivering
Requirements
- Enrolled in a Master’s program in Law or equivalent legal education
- Fluent in English and German (minimum C1 in both)
- Available 60% (3 days/week) for at least 6 months
- Strong command of MS Office, comfortable with SharePoint
- Previous experience with contracts and/or legal operations is a plus
