Data Engineer

The role

Data is critical to our business at Modo Energy. As a Data Engineer you’ll be responsible for taking business logic from our research teams and bringing it all the way from someone else’s rough python IDE to a full production environment and exposed to our users. You’ll be working with teams across the business like our research teams (the energy market experts), our engineering teams and our product leads.

To be successful in the role you’ll need to be proactive, pragmatic and looking to learn all the time.

Responsibilities:

• Building data pipelines and infrastructure to bring business logic and data up to a production-ready standard.

Qualifications:

• Experience with data lakes, warehousing, and database design, ideally using AWS infrastructure.
• Experience in data operations, scalability and performance optimisation.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work autonomously and adapt to a flexible, evolving environment.

Important Details:

• We work in a Hybrid Environment: You split your time between working from home and working in our London office (Tuesday - Thursday).
