Team Assistant (Returner Programme)

Man Group, one of the world’s largest independent alternative investment managers, is partnering with Career Returners to launch its third Man Group Returner Programme. The programme is targeted at experienced professionals who have taken an extended career break and now want to return to the workforce. Alongside the returnship, there is also an opportunity to join the firm’s Technology team directly into a permanent role where the successful candidate will also benefit from Career Returners coaching.

About the Man Group Returner Programme

During the six-month programme, you will work on professional assignments based on your skills and interests, and will benefit from coaching through the transition period from Career Returners, together with internal mentoring and network access. At the end of the programme, there will be the possibility of a permanent role with the organisation.

Who Man Group is looking for

Man Group is keen to hear from candidates of any gender who have had a career break of at least 24 months (from April 2023), with the following relevant experience:

This position will provide comprehensive administrative support to two UK asset management teams. The position will also provide cover for other team admins in Discretionary asset management, such as the European teams admin. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, outstanding attention to detail, and take pride in maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.

 

Specific responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to two UK asset management teams:

• Coordinating all internal and external meetings and conference calls with corporates (via banks and directly with IR teams), sell side analysts, salespeople and other research providers
• Liaising with the client services team to book in client meetings and UK trips for portfolio managers and analysts to see clients
• Ensuring fast, seamless communication and scheduling between all stakeholders
• Actively managing booked meetings and conference schedules. Plus managing rooms, conference connection info, restaurant bookings and catering where required too.
• General administrative tasks including screening calls, expenses, travel arrangements, liaising with tech support and facilities on behalf of the teams
• Cover for other team admins in discretionary asset management, such as the European teams admin

 

Technical competencies:

• Significant experience as a team assistant or admin within an asset management team or other similarly fast paced environment
• Excellent organisational skills plus the ability to prioritise competing demands, multi-task and serve multiple stakeholders in a timely manner
• High level of discretion
• Proficient user of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
