Position Description:

  • Take full ownership of all data assets within LetsGetChecked, ensuring they are properly managed and utilized across the organization
  • Oversee the entire data lifecycle, including data creation, storage, usage, archival, and deletion, ensuring that each stage aligns with governance policies and compliance requirements
  • Catalog and maintain an inventory of both operational and analytical data sets to ensure they are accessible and well-documented
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive data quality roadmap, outlining goals and strategies for continuous improvement
  • Introduce and enforce data integrity checks and controls to maintain high-quality data standards across all systems
  • Manage the quality and maintenance of master data, ensuring accuracy and consistency from creation through to application across the organization
  • Work closely with product teams, divisions, and external partners to improve internal data quality and integrate governance practices into their workflows
  • Assist in the development and implementation of data strategy, architecture, and design, ensuring they align with governance objectives
  • Ensure all data practices comply with relevant regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR, and that data is used ethically within the organization
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data management and governance, ensuring that data handling practices protect the organization and its stakeholders
  • Perform data profiling and curation for new and existing data sources, ensuring they meet organizational standards and requirements
  • Provide guidance on data governance standards, tools, and master data management, ensuring they are understood and applied across the organization
  • Investigate and resolve data anomalies and integration issues, implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences
  • Create and maintain best practices for data definitions, including developing and managing a data
    dictionary and data glossary to standardize terminology
  • Contribute to the long-term data governance strategy, ensuring it is scalable and aligned with the company’s objectives
  • Mentor and train other stakeholders on governance practices, fostering a culture of data stewardship

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in data management, data governance, or a related field.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, such as DAMA-DMBOK or CMMI DMM, ideally in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce data policies, procedures, and standards that align with healthcare regulations.
  • Experience in defining and executing stewardship roles and responsibilities across the organization.
  • Familiarity with global data protection laws, especially if the company operates internationally.
  • Risk Management, identifying and mitigating risks associated with data handling, storage, and sharing in a healthcare environment.
  • Expertise in assessing and ensuring data quality, including accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Experience in implementing MDM practices to ensure a single source of truth for critical data.
  • Proficiency in data modeling techniques to support data governance initiatives.
  • Experience with integrating data across different systems, ensuring interoperability within the healthcare technology landscape.
  • Strong ability to work with product engineering, data engineering, analytics, and IT teams to align data governance objectives.
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills to articulate the value of data governance to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with tools that support data governance activities.
  • Ability to leverage data analytics to monitor and report on governance metrics.
  • Ability to manage large-scale data governance projects, including timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in developing and executing a data governance strategy that aligns with the company’s goals.

Our Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AWS, especially in the context of data security and governance.
  • Knowledge of healthcare-specific data types, such as EHRs, clinical data, claims data, and patient records.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, and ICD coding systems.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data regulations, particularly HIPAA, to ensure patient data privacy and security.
