About the Position


NIMGenetics a company by LGC, is looking for a Head of Sales in Portugal
Location: Portugal, preferable Lisboa (Remote with travel as required)
Reports to: Iberia Sales Director


At NIMGenetics, we are committed to advancing genetic diagnostics and  personalized medicine across Europe. To continue our expansion, we are seeking a Head of Sales to spearhead our efforts in Portugal. This is a strategic 
leadership role for a commercial professional who is passionate about innovation in healthcare and eager to make a meaningful impact in the field of genetic diagnostics.


Your Mission:


As Head of Sales for Portugal, you will lead our commercial activities in the  region, building strong relationships with healthcare institutions, driving market 
growth, and representing NIMGenetics’ comprehensive portfolio of genetics  services. You will be responsible for defining and implementing our local sales strategy, directly engaging with clients and guiding distributor teams to success.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Strategy & Market Leadership

  • Manage P&L of NIM Portugal Business plan
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to expand our presence in the Portuguese market
  • Design and implement tailored action plans across different regions and healthcare sectors
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust strategy accordingly

Business Development & Key Account Management

  • Identify and engage potential healthcare partners, presenting  NIMGenetics’ services and leading negotiations
  • Manage the full customer lifecycle: from prospecting and contracting to onboarding and ongoing support
  • Coordinate technical and medical visits with key clients in collaboration with internal departments

Distributor Support & Sales Enablement

  • Provide hands-on support to distributor sales teams during key client negotiations and closings
  • Deliver product and sales training to distributor partners to ensure alignment and performance
  • Collaboration & Product Alignment
  • Act as the local voice of the market, providing customer feedback to the product and technical teams
  • Collaborate on the development of local sales tools and cost-effectiveness models
  • Contribute to product development initiatives as part of multidisciplinary project teams

Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare strategic plans and budgets in coordination with marketing and product teams (e.g. SMAPS)
  • Report key performance metrics and updates in quarterly Monthly Management Reports (MMRs)
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting in CRM systems and other administrative platforms

Market Engagement

  • Represent NIMGenetics at key industry events, negotiating sponsorships or partnerships where relevant
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and institutional stakeholders shaping the genetics landscape

Additional Contributions

  • Support proposal writing for grants or RFPs and contribute to market research projects as needed

About You


We are looking for a high-performing, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a fast-paced and purpose-driven environment.

Candidate Profile

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in business development or sales within life  sciences or healthcare. Experience in genetics or medical devices is a strong plus
  • Deep understanding of the Portuguese healthcare system, including procurement processes in public and private sectors
  • Background in genetics, medical science, or biology is advantageous (e.g., MD, biologist, or similar)
  • Role will directly work with Int, HQ
  • Demonstrated success in fast-growing environments with a high degree of autonomy
  • Native Portuguese speaker with fluent English; Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders and presenting at events
  • Willing to travel regularly across Portugal
  • Aligned with NIMGenetics’ mission and values
