Program Manager Avionics (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the various development streams within the Avionics Program. This includes managing project related system and subcomponent development, testing and delivery. As Program Manager you will ensure that all projects are aligned with the company’s strategic goals, timelines, and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with System Managers, Product Owners, the Program Managers of other teams and report to the Director of Avionics.

Your Role in Our Space Mission 

  • Project Oversight: Provide comprehensive oversight and status updates of all development streams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines
  • Coordination: Facilitate communication and collaboration between Product Owners, Directors and the CTO Office to ensure cohesive project execution
  • Performance Monitoring: Track project progress, performance metrics and deliverables, providing regular updates to the Avionics Director
  • Process Improvement: Develop and improve workflows to ensure highly efficient sourcing, manufacturing and testing of Avionic components & harnesses
  • Change Management: Oversee Change Management and ensure alignment with our timelines & quality expectations
  • Rapid Prototyping Strategies: Develop and implement rapid prototyping strategies for Avionic Units ensuring fast development cycles, identifying and addressing bottlenecks

Qualification Checklist 

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering, or other relevant fields
  • 5+ years of working experience in an engineering environment, preferably aerospace
  • General understanding of rocket systems and ability to discuss project-related details with Avionics product & system owners
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing and testing processes of Avionic Units and Harnesses
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Jira or similar) and project methods (Agile and classic methods)
  • Fluent English Speaking (German beneficial)
