Senior Group Accountant, Finance (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The role serves as a specialist staff position supporting the Director Group Accounting. It ensures proper accounting in accordance with HGB and IFRS, the quality of consolidated financial statements, and the development of accounting policies and processes. The position acts as a sparring partner for management, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

Your Role in Our Space Mission

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure accurate and timely standalone and consolidated financial statements under HGB and IFRS.
• Resolve complex accounting issues (e.g., IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 3).
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and guidelines.
• Support audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.

Process & System Excellence

• Optimize accounting processes and internal controls.
• Provide functional support for SAP FI/CO and contribute to system enhancements (ideally SAP S/4HANA).
• Participate in projects such as M&A, post-merger integration, or system migrations.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with Finance, Controlling, Tax, Legal, and external auditors.
• Advise management on accounting-related matters.
• Proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.

Measures of Success

• Quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial statements.
• Compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Effective collaboration with auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Sustainable process and system improvements.

Capabilities

• Deep expertise in HGB and IFRS.
• Extensive experience in group accounting or Big Four auditing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and effectively.
• High degree of independence and professionalism in a staff function

Qualification Checklist 

• Certified Tax Advisor or Certified Public Auditor (desirable).
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO, ideally SAP Hana / S/4HANA.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Willingness to work regularly on-site in Ottobrunn
