About the Role
As a JIRA Administrator at Ocado, you’ll be the go-to expert for everything Atlassian. You’ll manage, configure, and optimise JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence, ensuring these tools run smoothly to support global project delivery. From custom workflows and user permissions to integrations and automation, your work will enable teams to collaborate more effectively and drive innovation at scale.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Configure & customise JIRA to meet evolving business needs – including workflows, permissions, screens, and custom fields
- Manage user roles, permissions, and security groups across all Atlassian products
- Implement automation rules and integrate JIRA with third-party tools for seamless functionality
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshoot performance or integration issues
- Generate custom dashboards, reports, and maintain documentation to support user adoption and insight-driven decisions
About you
- Expert knowledge of JIRA Service Management (ITSM), including workflows, permissions, automation, and integrations with tools like ServiceNow and GitHub.
- Proven experience in administering, customising, and troubleshooting Atlassian products (JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, Confluence) in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues and defining actionable metrics.
- Experience working in an IT support environment, managing incidents, problems, and service requests.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- At least 2 years experience in JIRA administration and in advanced search using Jira Query Language
- Desirable: Atlassian certifications (ACP-120/ACP-600), knowledge of Groovy/Python/Shell scripting, and familiarity with Agile/DevOps methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
