Culture & Engagement Sr Associate

Spain - Boadilla del Monte, Madrid

Overall responsibility

 

Drive the development and execution of Culture & Engagement strategies and initiatives that strengthen the employee experience and reinforce the organization's values and business priorities seeking alignment with internal communications. This is a global role in the People, Culture & Organization (PC&O) team, supporting employees and stakeholders across all countries where the organization operates, ensuring consistency while recognizing local business and cultural needs.

 

Primary activities

  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and business leaders to design and implement strategic Culture & Engagement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional People projects, ensuring effective planning, stakeholder alignment, execution, and governance.
  • Embed Culture & Engagement frameworks into organizational change and business transformation initiatives to support employee adoption.
  • Design and implement Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) awareness initiatives that foster an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Coordinate Health & Wellbeing initiatives aligned with the broader PC&O strategy to enhance employee wellbeing and participation.
  • Ensure strategic alignment across Culture & Engagement initiatives and PC&O communications, providing functional guidance and coordinating communications when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the global onboarding and offboarding experience through strategic employee lifecycle initiatives.
  • Lead employee listening initiatives, translating insights into actionable plans that strengthen engagement and culture.
  • Monitor engagement and culture metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive the simplification, automation, and digitization of People processes, expanding employee self-service capabilities.
  • Define and coordinate the governance and execution of the annual Culture & Engagement calendar, ensuring alignment across priorities and initiatives.
  • Coordinate global Culture & Engagement initiatives with Grupo Santander, driving their effective localization and implementation across markets.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in Culture, Employee Experience, Internal Organizational Development, or related HR areas or projects.
  • Experience analyzing employee feedback and engagement data to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience in global roles and multinational organizations. Working across diverse cultures and geographies is highly desirable.
  • Experience in consulting (strategy, management consulting or transformation) working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in internal communications and employee communication planning is considered an asset but is not required.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives forward with limited supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a continuous improvement mindset, challenging the status quo and driving innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Strong creative thinking skills with a keen eye for visual quality, branding, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of email communication design and layout is desirable but not required.
  • Fluent Spanish or Portuguese. English proficiency required.
  • An additional language (Spanish or Portuguese) is valued.
