The role
The Financial Times is looking for a London-based video producer to join our award-winning podcast team. This is an exciting time to join the FT as it looks to expand its video-podcast offering and to reach new audiences with a multi-format approach.
You will primarily be responsible for creating the long form video version of full length episodes, sizzles and social media clips for the FT’s flagship history show The Story of Money, hosted by Gillian Tett and Robin Wigglesworth.
The role requires an experienced video editor who can work at a fast pace. You will have a proven track record of developing long-form edits on a fast turnaround highly optimised for video platforms, and experience in crafting high-reach short form content for social media. Importantly, you will also understand the best practices for the varying video and social platforms, and how to tailor content to excel on each.
This role reports to the head of audio and in addition to The Story of Money, the podcast video producer will also work with audio colleagues as we roll out video for existing talk shows in our podcast slate. Our team runs on collaboration, honesty and flexibility.
This is a fixed-term contract through December 2026.

- Confident use of Adobe Premiere, with knowledge of other video editing software including Descript. An understanding of After Effects would be beneficial.

- Works collaboratively and flexibly
- Has worked in a busy newsroom
- Has a keen eye for detail
- Organised, able to prioritise a busy workload and can work to tight deadlines

The use of AI
Original reporting, great writing and intelligent commentary lie at the heart of FT journalism. Our readers trust us to produce quality journalism that is accurate, fair and insightful. This is why FT editorial staff do not by default use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to write articles or create other reader-facing content. For specific and pre-approved cases, AI can be harnessed for certain tasks, such as assisting data research for investigations.
We expect applicants to the FT newsroom to refrain from using AI in their test submissions, and any written materials should be a genuine reflection of their own knowledge, skills and experiences. We encourage candidates only to employ AI as a tool to help with research and interview readiness for a role.
Candidates should be aware that the use of AI throughout the application process is monitored to ensure a fair and transparent hiring process for all.
