About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering, particularly in the development of data warehouses, ETL processes, and data ingestion. Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and analytics. Additionally, experience with Power BI is preferred.

Job responsibilities

 

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and loading of data into the data warehouse.

• Develop and maintain scalable data fabric architectures to enable seamless data integration, access, and management across the organization.

• Implement data governance frameworks and ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Establish and maintain data lineage tracking within the data fabric to ensure transparency and traceability of data flows.

• Implement ETL processes to ensure the integrity and quality of data.

• Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Develop data transformation processes and algorithms to standardize, cleanse, and enrich data for analysis.

• Apply data quality checks and validation rules to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.

• Mentor junior team members, review code, and drive best practices in data engineering methodologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

• Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize and execute data initiatives.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data infrastructure designs, ETL processes, and data lineage.

• Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Job requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and scripting.

• Expertise in Azure Data Services including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.

• Solid understanding of Azure Synapse, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure HDInsight.

• Experience with cloud data migration and scalable data architectures.

• Proficiency in data fabric technologies (e.g., Denodo, Talend Data Fabric, IBM Cloud Pak for Data).

• Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Apache Spark, and Spark SQL.

• Experience working with data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling principles, and data integration techniques.

• Familiarity with MSBI components (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).

• Strong knowledge of data governance best practices, data security, and compliance standards.

• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, and Cognos.

• Ability to design and develop analytics dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.

• Leadership experience or strong interest in mentoring and leading a team.
