About the role
We are seeking an L1 Consultant (M365/Azure) with good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services. The role includes monitoring Azure VMs, resource health, backups, and networking components, along with handling user/license management in M365. The consultant will provide first-level support for Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, troubleshoot common networking issues, and work with monitoring tools and ticketing systems like ServiceNow. Strong communication skills, familiarity with ITIL processes, and the ability to document and escalate issues effectively are essential.
Job responsibilities
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure services and Azure portal basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to monitor Azure virtual machines, resource health, and basic metrics.
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and setting/viewing alerts.
- Knowledge of Azure networking components like VNets, subnets, NSGs, and public IPs.
- Awareness of Azure Backup and Site Recovery (ASR) status and job monitoring.
- Basic user and license management in Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Troubleshooting skills for Exchange Online (mail delivery issues, mailbox size, password resets).
- Basic support for Microsoft Teams (login issues, call quality, access issues).
- Understanding of OneDrive and SharePoint Online access, sync, and permissions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing models and escalation of license-related issues.
- Awareness of Microsoft 365 security alerts, user sign-in logs, and MFA status.
- Basic networking skills include IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and subnetting.
- Experience using diagnostic tools like ping, tracert, nslookup, and ipconfig
Job requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT support with exposure to Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Ability to identify and escalate issues related to firewalls and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, SolarWinds, or Azure Monitor.
- Capability to review system/application logs and troubleshoot common errors.
- Proficiency in ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Freshdesk, ensuring timely updates and resolution tracking.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with users and providing clear ticket updates.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Request, and Change Management.
- Strong documentation habits for shift handovers and process tracking.
- Self-discipline, ownership, and responsiveness in a remote work environment.
