Project Description

Our client expand the functionality of their mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms. Their product and development teams will create prototypes, proof of concepts, or solutions on one of the mobile platforms, and then the functionality will be fully implemented on the other platform. The project involves working late hours, you will need to overlap with Pacific Time US until noon. 2:00 PM CT.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to a team of Build, Infrastructure, Test, and Release Engineers focused on improving developer velocity, scalability, and testability of mobile apps;
  • Build, maintain, and operate the mobile app CI/CD pipelines;
  • Operate our build infrastructure, including working with vendor partners;
  • Create the next-generation developer tooling and infrastructure for mobile apps, focusing on productivity, testing, and release;
  • Track and monitor the usage/consumption of Infrastructure services; ensure performance and SLA and cost control adherence;
  • Develop telemetry and alerting for opportunities to improve build infrastructure and tooling, and execute on them;
  • Monitor and fix build pipelines identify bottlenecks, make improvements;
  • Collaborate with leadership and key partners regularly;
  • Build, package, verify, and deliver an internal SDK to be used by applications;
  • Keep the build pipelines updated as newer versions of Android build tools, Kotlin, JDK and Gradle are released;

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience;
  • Proficient in one system language like Kotlin and scripting languages like Python, Go, Ruby;
  • Deep understanding of Gradle build systems and dependency management;
  • Experience with containerizing build workloads;
  • Have experience configuring and using artifact management tools;
  • Experience with CI/CD principles, architecture and operations;
  • Working experience with CircleCI, Buildkite, Jenkins or other CI/CD platforms;
  • Strong knowledge of Android build systems, networking, log analysis tools, app release and signing key management;
  • Level of English - from Intermediate+ (spoken/written);

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Fastlane;
  • Experience with the Google Play Console for mobile app distribution;
  • Experience with GitHub releases, branch protection and webhooks;
  • Experience with developing automated internal frameworks, increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health and building developer tools;
