Purpose
This role forms an integral part of the Customer Activation Team, responsible to bring together all the innovative product services Clickatell offers to deliver the client’s workflows, often integrating their system with Clickatell's platform. You will have the opportunity to become a Chatbot Wizard in the rapidly developing global mobile landscape across various channels. You will also work closely with Product Team Leads and rest of the Service Delivery team, so good communication and collaboration skills are essential.
We Do The Right Things- Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop flow configuration and API integration in accordance with the client’s user-journey to solve their business requirements.
- Provide technical support for system design, testing and implementation activities.
- Work closely with the solution and customer success team on user journeys, ensuring proper change control during implementation along with making amendments for change requests.
- Collaborate with Solutions Architect on creative solution designs for the more complex projects.
- Analyse and resolve or escalate system defects and problems in a timely manner.
- Track all activities in JIRA that will provide metrics for reporting purposes.
- Design and implement creative dynamic API’s (webhook) for complex system integrations.
- Conduct in-depth technical investigations to identify root causes of flow-related issues, and provide comprehensive recommendations for effective issue resolution, including preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
- Guide junior team members by providing instruction on best practices for workflow building and API integrations and conduct reviews of their work to ensure technical excellence, scalability and long-term success.
We Are On A Learning Journey- Requirements of the Role
- 3-year Diploma (NQF level 5) / Degree (NQF Level 6) in Information Technology.
- Work Experience
- 5+ years’ relevant working experience
- 2+ years API integration experience
- Prior experience in e-commerce or mobile commerce is a plus
- Prior experience in workflow building, process automation or chatbot development
- Knowledge and Ability
- Strong understanding of API integrations, webhooks, and data exchange formats (JSON, XML)
- Ability to troubleshoot API and automation issues effectively.
- Basic Linux knowledge
- Basic scripting knowledge (JavaScript, Python, or similar)
- Database knowledge
