Security Engineer

ClearScore Group is expanding and to continue enable our security maturity journey we are hiring into the security team. The team is responsible for all cyber and information security, covering vulnerability management, tooling implementation and monitoring, user awareness, security governance, and proactive threat hunting. Joining the security ream gives you the chance to sit at the heart of an exciting tech culture, exploring best in class tools to solve challenging problems. We’re looking for self-motivated problem solvers with backgrounds in security or operations. We use a full range of tools, and always introducing new tools and techniques to achieve a high level of security. While prior experience is beneficial, we’re looking for people with strong fundamentals in cloud environments, security tooling and network security, with the belief that specific technological tooling and implementations can be picked up by the right candidate.

As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening our security posture across cloud infrastructure, applications, and development pipelines. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices, proactively identify risks, and implement robust security solutions.

 

What You’ll Do:

Security Operations & Threat Response

  • Investigate and respond to cyber threats, security incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Analyse attack patterns, detect bad actors, and recommend mitigations.
  • Work with XDR, and firewall solutions to enhance security monitoring.

Cloud Security & DevSecOps

  • Secure cloud-native solutions (AWS, IaaS, SaaS, Serverless) and enforce best practices.
  • Strengthen IAM, role-based access controls, and security policies.
  • Integrate security in CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and containerised environments.

Vulnerability Management & Security Testing

  • Identify and remediate security risks in applications, infrastructure, and APIs.
  • Leverage SAST/DAST tools and conduct security assessments of software and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks (ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2, PCI DSS).

Threat Modelling & Risk Management

  • Evaluate systems against OWASP Top 10, CWE/SANS Top 25, and emerging threats.
  • Support security reviews, architecture assessments, and hardening initiatives.
  • Provide clear, actionable security recommendations to developers and engineers.

Security Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain security certifications, including ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS.
  • Support internal and external audits, security assessments, and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with different teams to align security practices with regulatory requirements.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Security Expertise: Hands-on experience with cyber security investigations, cloud security, and security operations.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of AWS security principles, IAM, and cloud security best practices.
  • Infrastructure & Code: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, Containers, and DevSecOps workflows or eager to learn.
  • Scripting & Automation: Familiar with Python, NodeJS, or GoLang for security automation—or eager to learn!
  • Tooling & Frameworks: Experience with XDR, SAST/DAST, and threat modelling methodologies.
  • Security Governance & Compliance: Understanding of security control frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS.
  • Certifications (Nice to Have): CISSP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC, CCSP, or other security certifications.
  • Mindset: Proactive, hands-on, and able to execute security initiatives with minimal oversight.

Our Hybrid Model

  • Levels 1-5: Minimum 2 days per week in-office
