About the Role:
As a Technical Project Leader for Battery Design at BOLD, you will play a critical leadership role in bringing cutting-edge battery systems from concept to serial production.
You will be responsible for overseeing the technical development and execution of projects within the agreed scope, ensuring that all engineering solutions meet the requirements, and are compliant to the required standards. You will lead the technical aspects within the engineering department of a project from concept through validation, ensuring the proper definition and implementation of requirements, technical architectures, testing methods, and safety assessments. To ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction, you will also collaborate closely with the Project Manager, and other stakeholders.
We are seeking a senior-level engineer with extensive experience in developing complex, safety-critical systems, preferably in high-voltage battery systems or similar technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of requirements-based engineering along with the ability to lead and coordinate within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

- Lead the engineering team in developing technical solutions that comply with project requirements and customer expectations.
- Design the Product Breakdown Structure (PBS), system architectures, and key components, providing a clear and comprehensive project structure.
- Oversee the integration of technical deliverables, ensuring they meet project and system-level objectives.
- Define the engineering Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), breaking project activities into manageable tasks with clear milestones.
- Track progress against the WBS to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks and alignment with overall project planning.
- Define and manage project baselines, ensuring configuration management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the handling of problem reports and change requests, ensuring efficient resolution and proper tracking in the configuration management system.
- Support conformity inspections, ensuring the first article meets all design and compliance standards.
- Review and validate technical deliverables, ensuring accuracy and completeness in analyses, calculations, and simulations.
- Create and manage customer documentation, including operation and maintenance instructions, ensuring all documents are accurate, up to date, and compliant with project requirements.
- Manage safety risks during the project’s development and verification phases, ensuring risks are documented, assessed, and mitigated in line with safety standards.
Skills You Will Need:
- 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer or technical project leader for complex, safety-critical systems. Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and manage complex projects from concept to completion.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and validation techniques, including testing methods for product performance, safety, and compliance.
- Expertise in requirements-based engineering processes and the use of requirements management tools (Polarion, JAMA, DOORS, or similar).
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to address technical challenges efficiently and manage change requests or unforeseen issues.
- Strong decision-making skills under pressure, ensuring project objectives are met.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams and excellent technical writing skills for creating engineering deliverables and customer-facing documentation.
Skills That Would Be Great to Have:
- Advanced experience in the design, development, and validation of high-voltage battery systems for automotive, aerospace, or industrial applications.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards for product development.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and resolving problem reports or change requests.
