The Senior Electrical Engineer will participate in the concept and support in the system design of various Electrical Engineering solutions for automotive, aerospace and maritime applications. They will follow their work through development loops up to final system integration and validation, supervised by a Senior engineer with a high degree of freedom.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Co-development and design of Electrical Engineering concept and systems for commercial and in-house projects.
  • Selection of Electrical Components, such as contactors, HV relays, fuses, connectors and harnesses.
  • Detailed design calculations, such as cable and busbar cross-sections definition, pre-charge circuits, thermal 1D simulations.
  • Ensure collaboration between the HW engineering team and other teams for a certain program.
  • Propose improvements in Hardware Engineering.
  • Contribute to the testing and validation planning and participate in the test execution of Electrical Engineering systems.
  • Develop and review associated documentation, layouts, schematics, calculations, simulations and test report for Electrical Engineering solutions.
  • Definition of design processes and best practices guidelines.
  • Customer support for a proper battery integration with external powertrain systems.

 

Minimum qualifications, skills and experience

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • 3+ years in similar position as intern or contract in a company.
  • Highly skilled in electrical design, development, and testing.
  • Understanding EV vehicle architectures, High Voltage systems, and vehicle requirements from Electrical Engineering perspective.
  • Experience in harnesses design with Altium.
  • Master in hardware debugging and troubleshooting tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, data loggers).
  • Understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
  • English language proficiency.

 

Desirable skills and additional experience

  • Experience with battery systems or working with electric vehicle developments and electromechanical components.
  • Experience in 3Dx. 
  • Experience with soldering stations to re-work PCB or to mount prototypes for testing purposes is highly appreciated.
  • Experience integrating systems of multiple PCBAs.
  • Simulate PCBs with Altium (Signal Integrity, PDN in DC) and Ansys/Altair (Thermal Analysis, EMCs, AC Impedance).
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards including ISO 26262, IEC 61508, DO-254.
  • Spanish language proficiency (other langue’s inside Spain such as Galician, Basque an/or Catalan are appreciated).
