Intern - Exterior Designer

We are seeking a creative and motivated intern to join our Exterior Design team, supporting the development and refinement of exterior design concepts for production vehicle programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the exterior design team in development projects.
• Assist designers in developing exterior design proposals, from overall design themes to detailed component-level design (e.g., lighting, grille, bumper, wheels, and other exterior elements).
• Create compelling sketches and design proposals in line with AVATR’s design philosophy of athletic elegance.
• Develop and refine design ideas using digital tools and 3D software to support internal reviews and presentations.
• Collaborate with digital modeling (CAS) teams to translate sketches into high-quality 3D models suitable for design evaluation.
• Participate in design reviews and support the preparation of visual materials and presentations for project milestones.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Studio Engineering, CMF, and Digital Modeling to ensure design feasibility and consistency throughout the development process.
• Gain exposure to the full design development process, from early concept exploration to production-oriented design refinement.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Transportation Design, Automotive Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Strong sketching and visual communication skills, with the ability to generate creative and brand-relevant design ideas.
• Basic knowledge of digital design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Alias, Blender, or other 3D visualization tools).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced design environment.
• Fluent in English.
