Senior TechOps
Working at CreateFuture
CreateFuture is an AI-native consulting partner where people do work that matters and are supported to do it well. We work alongside organisations such as PayPal, adidas, NatWest, FanDuel and Money Saving Expert, building digital products and services that make a difference while always putting people first.
We’re a team of creators. We write code, shape delivery, build go-to-market strategies, develop AI solutions and create the practices that support our people. We work side by side with our clients, challenging what’s not working and helping them to build the future. Our commitment to craft, quality, and culture has helped us scale to over 600 people in just a few years.
CreateFuture is a Great Place to Work-Certified™ company and has won Best Workplaces UK multiple years in a row.
Join us on our journey. Let’s create tomorrow, together, today.
About the role and team:
TechOps keeps CreateFuture running — everything from the laptop in someone's bag on day one to the identity platforms, networks and cloud services behind our day-to-day work, across a business of 500+ people throughout the UK. We're a small team with a wide remit, which for you means unusually broad exposure: device management, identity, networking, cloud and security, rather than one narrow corner of IT.
This is a role for someone at the start of their career. You'll begin with the day-to-day, supporting colleagues, setting up devices, working through requests — and that's genuinely where the learning is, because it's how you build a real mental model of how the business works. From there you'll take on more: automation, projects, and ownership of your own areas. We're an automation-first team, so you'll be encouraged to script things rather than repeat them, and to use AI tooling to move faster while learning what it's actually good for. We'll give you time, context and someone senior to learn from — we're not expecting you to arrive knowing this stuff.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning and improving our macOS estate in Jamf Pro — profiles, packaging, patching, extension attributes and zero-touch enrolment
- Administering Microsoft 365 / Entra ID and Google Workspace, including conditional access, licence automation and joiner/mover/leaver processes
- Automating the repetitive work — scripting and building the integrations that connect our systems together
- Looking after network and cloud infrastructure, from UniFi wireless across our offices to our GCP footprint
- Owning the AI tooling estate — licensing and cost management, enablement, data-handling guardrails, and usage telemetry that shows what the spend is actually returning
- Strengthening our security posture and supporting ISO 27001 alignment — endpoint hardening, access reviews, and answering client security questionnaires with evidence rather than assertions
We'd love to talk to you if you:
- Have deep, hands-on experience administering macOS at scale with an MDM — Jamf ideally, but Kandji/Iru or Mosyle is fine if the fundamentals are solid. This is a Mac-first estate, so it's the one area we're not flexible on.
- Are comfortable across both Microsoft 365 / Entra ID and Google Workspace, the identity, security and licensing sides, not just the admin console basics
- Can script, and instinctively look for the automated solution before the manual one
- Understand networking well enough to diagnose real problems, and have hands-on exposure to GCP, AWS or Azure
- Use AI tooling seriously in your own engineering work, and have a realistic view of where it helps and where it doesn't, plus some thinking on the governance side
- Have worked in or alongside an ISO 27001, SOC 2 or Cyber Essentials environment
What we’ll offer you:
We trust people to do their best work. That means flexibility over rigid rules, impact over activity, and real investment in your growth both professionally and personally. You’ll be part of a supportive, and friendly culture, surrounded by smart, curious people who care deeply about what they do.
For this role we would expect you to be present in our Edinburgh office a few times per week.
We trust you to manage your time balancing collaboration with client time and focused work. What matters is the impact you have, not how busy you look
