About the role and team
You'll join our Bulgaria team, working side by side with clients and our delivery teams to turn architectural designs into production systems. Increasingly, our clients want products and platforms that are AI-native from the start. As a Platform Engineer, you'll be both a hands-on individual contributor and a technical driving force in your team: closing the gap between design and delivery, recognising operational bottlenecks, and establishing good engineering practice in client environments. This role is based in Bulgaria, and you'll need to live there and have unrestricted right to work.
How we work
CreateFuture is an AI-native organisation. Every core technical role is expected to:
- Work with AI-native delivery and workflow practices.
- Practise agentic engineering through at least one harness.
- Apply context engineering through prompts, skills, tools and harnesses.
- Know at least one runtime or language.
- Use CI/CD and automated quality practices to verify work in all its forms.
What you'll be doing
A platform is the shared foundation our clients' teams build and run their products on. It runs on public cloud, it is defined as code, and it is run as a product. It has users, a roadmap, and measurable reliability, security and cost. It covers accounts and landing zones, networking, compute and container runtimes, delivery pipelines, observability, security controls, and the services that host AI models and agents. Teams use it through self-service, not tickets.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll deliver shared platforms and infrastructure for software, data and AI workloads.
You'll bring credible, role-specific capability in:
- Cloud platforms, with production experience on at least one major cloud service provider.
- Platform architecture, integration, and portability.
- Platform automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as the default way of working, lifecycle management, and self-service.
- CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
- Runtime and workload-platform engineering and enablement, including production containerised workloads.
- Secure platform engineering, with security and observability by design.
- Shared platform observability, reliability, incident investigation and mitigation, resilience, and recovery.
- Platform performance, scalability, capacity, and cost optimisation.
- Clear, tracked communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You won't need depth in all of these, but experience in one or more of the following would be valuable:
- Container orchestration: running Kubernetes or a similar orchestrator at scale, including service mesh.
- Developer self-service: golden paths, templates, GitOps and dev platforms.
- Site reliability: SLOs, error budgets, incident response, postmortems, on-call and disaster recovery.
- Platform security: policy as code, software supply chain security, DevSecOps and regulated environments.
- AI platforms: model serving and inference, AI gateways, agent runtimes, evals in the release process, and token and cost telemetry.
- FinOps: cost visibility and attribution, optimisation and capacity planning.
- Migration and modernisation: assessing estates, data centre exits and moving workloads onto containers.
- Networking and connectivity: multi-account design and hybrid connectivity.
We'd love to talk to you if you
- Resolve complex or ambiguous platform and infrastructure problems within a team or engagement, making sound judgement calls.
- Shape technical direction for shared platforms, influencing how work gets done as well as what.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on platform architecture, reliability and cost trade-offs.
- Coach and develop other engineers, and raise standards across our platform engineering discipline.
