About the role
The Global Travel & Expense (T&E) Senior Manager at Veeam Software is responsible for leading and managing the company’s global travel and expense program. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and compliant travel and expense management across all regions in which Veeam operates, currently in more than 40 countries in Americas, Europe and Asia. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and regional teams to optimize processes, implement best practices, and deliver an exceptional employee experience in line with Veeam’s values.
The Senior Manager will lead a global team who process expense reports and ensure adherence to policy and compliance standards. This position will also oversee Veeam’s global travel program, including vendor management, policy governance, and system optimization.
A key aspect of this role involves continuous process improvement, automation, digital transformation, and integration of newly acquired entities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across the organization. This position is based in the United States will offer a remote work arrangement, however the preferred candidate will sit in close proximity to one of our office locations (Alpharetta, GA, Kirkland, WA, Columbus, OH)
What You'll Do
- Develop, implement, and maintain global travel and expense policies and procedures in alignment with company objectives and industry regulations.
- Oversee the selection, negotiation, and management of travel service providers, such as airlines, hotels, and car rental companies, ensuring high-quality service and cost savings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for travel management companies (TMCs), online booking tools, and travel vendors (airlines, hotels, ground transportation, etc.), as well as Expense vendor(s).
- Manage the deployment and optimization of expense management platforms and tools, ensuring seamless integration and user adoption.
- Monitor travel and expense spend, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to finance and executive leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead and develop a team of 7–8 global analysts responsible for expense report processing and compliance.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development to ensure high team engagement and efficiency. Foster a collaborative environment focused on accuracy, timeliness, and service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax requirements, and legal regulations across all geographies.
- Lead and support global T&E initiatives, including process improvements, automation, and sustainability programs.
- Promote awareness and understanding of T&E policies and tools to all travelers through training, office hours, and internal communications.
- Act as escalation point for complex or sensitive travel and expense issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on travel and expense activity and spend, savings, program performance, compliance, and risk management.
- Lead improvements or implementation of existing or new payment solutions, including potential corporate travel card program. It will include policy design, vendor review or selection, and rollout if applicable.
- Drive automation, digital transformation, and integration of acquired entities into the T&E framework.
- Lead global initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance traveler experience.
- Collaborate with regional leaders to ensure consistency and address local needs.
- Occasional travel (both domestic and international) may be required.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, hospitality, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in travel and expense management, preferably in a global technology or software company environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of global travel management systems, online booking tools, and expense platforms (e.g., TMC, SAP Concur, Egencia, or similar), including experience implementing these systems/platforms at global scale.
- Knowledge of international travel regulations, tax implications, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and digital transformation efforts to streamline and enhance processes.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop team members, manage cross-functional projects, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and process optimization.

Compensation Transparency
Veeam is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this role, the compensation range below reflects the expected total target compensation (TTC), inclusive of base pay and a competitive performance-based bonus. For roles with a commission plan, the compensation range represents On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus variable commission. When determining compensation, Veeam takes into consideration factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic zone. Offers are typically made below the midpoint of the range.
In addition to compensation, Veeam provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage, retirement plans, and unlimited time off.

$144,900 - $269,100 USD
