We’re looking for a Manager for our Platform Engineering team in the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) team. The mission of the Platform Engineering team is to provide a secure, reliable, and easy to use platform to enable our teams to build, test, deploy, and monitor the VDC product. As the leader of the team you will not only build and manage the Platform Engineering team, but you will establish the vision for the VDC platform systems and ensure execution toward that vision. You must be a hands-on leader and be ready to help the team execute when needed. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership and communication abilities to build a cutting-edge Platform Engineering team and systems.  

Your tasks will include:

  • Act as the thought leader in modern SaaS software delivery mechanisms and creating an absolutely delightful developer experience. 
  • Build and lead a geographically distributed, highly cohesive and motivated engineering team. 
  • Work closely with other Engineering teams and managers as your internal customers to ensure that the tools, systems, and services your team builds meet their requirements. 
  • Actively participate in design discussions, design reviews, and code reviews. 
  • Act as a point of escalation during on-call and support the team as needed during on-call. 
  • Promote Operational Excellence best practices across your team. 
  • Remove organizational bottlenecks and blockers for your teams and projects. 
  • Promote career development of team members. 
  • Play an active role in the broader Engineering leadership team to promote continuous improvement across the Engineering team and cross-team collaboration. 

 

What we expect from you:

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams in the Platform, DevOps, or SRE domains. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer. 
  • Experience building and operating high-scale cloud-native applications. 
  • Experience promoting a culture of Operational excellence with SaaS products. 
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure 
  • Experience automating infrastructure through code using technologies such as Pulumi or Terraform. 
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and other modern CI/CD tools 
  • A breadth and depth of hands-on experience public cloud services. 
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure 
  • Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a talented and opinionated team. 
  • High emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, and empathy for others. 
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position 
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results 
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

United States of America Pay Range

$190,700 - $272,400 USD
