Head of Marketing (f/m/x)

Your Role

As Head of Marketing at Tanso, you will take on a key role in our go-to-market strategy and lead all marketing efforts to drive brand visibility, pipeline growth and customer acquisition. As part of Tanso’s management team, you will shape how Tanso is positioned in the market and how we engage with our audience across every touchpoint. You will build and lead a high performance marketing team of 3-5 and will lay the groundwork to further growth.

You’ll be joining Tanso at an exciting inflection point: We reached product market fit, have high customer satisfaction levels and demand for holistic sustainability software in the industrial sector is accelerating. Your work will directly fuel this momentum. You’ll work closely with C-Level, specifically our CEO Till, and with other teams (Sales, Product, Design) to ensure that our marketing strategy aligns with business objectives and drives measurable growth.

We are not looking for a corporate manager. We’re hiring a data-driven, hands-on co-entrepreneur with a strong marketing background, ready to scale a lean, high-performing marketing team. The role comes with full ownership to find and refine our growth formula across all disciplines of marketing, with a strong focus on building up online marketing.

 

How You Succeed

Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports Tanso’s growth objectives across brand, product, and demand generation.
  • Refine positioning and messaging for our product, rooted in a deep understanding of the sustainability landscape and our buyer personas.
  • Partner with Sales and Product to ensure marketing initiatives align with pipeline goals, product roadmap, and customer needs.
  • Own marketing planning, budgeting, and forecasting, optimizing channel mix.

Growth & Performance Marketing

  • Drive lead generation through organic and paid channels — including SEO, SEA, LinkedIn, partnerships and events.
  • Implement and iterate on multi-channel, full-funnel marketing campaigns that attract and convert qualified leads.
  • Invest in automation and leverage AI workflows to maximize efficiency.
  • Own marketing performance tracking and attribution — define KPIs, report on campaign success, and iterate based on data.

Brand, Content & Thought Leadership

  • Build a compelling and consistent brand presence across all digital and physical channels.
  • Oversee all brand and creative initiatives, ensuring high quality and consistency across formats and teams.
  • Own content strategy to establish Tanso as a thought leader in the sustainability and climate-tech space (whitepapers, reports, blogs, customer stories, etc.)
  • Manage and grow our digital presence, including the website, newsletter, and social channels.

Team Building & Enablement

  • Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team and network of external partners
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, ownership, and continuous learning within the team.

Hard Requirements

  • Proven track record in leading and scaling a marketing function in B2B SaaS
  • Strong understanding of product marketing, positioning and B2B SaaS Sales
  • 6+ years fulltime work experience, with a strong domain expertise in online marketing
  • You already live or are willing to relocate to Munich.
  • You must have a pre-existing working permit for the EU.
  • You must speak English at level C1 or higher.
  • You must speak German at level C2.
