Senior Platform / Infrastructure Engineering Lead

For one of our major global aviation clients, we are looking for a senior-level IT Specialist Engineering. This is a high-impact, lead-level role within Operations and Distributed Services. You will be responsible for the architectural design, 3rd-line support, and end-to-end delivery of business-critical infrastructure platforms in a complex, multi-country environment.

What you’ll do

• Lead Infrastructure Engineering: Realize cost-efficient and optimal exploitation of specific platforms and infrastructure components.
• Design & Architecture: Create and review detailed and global designs, ensuring technical alignment and long-term maintainability.
• Lifecycle Management: Engineer new components and phase out legacy infrastructure while maintaining continuous business support.
• 3rd-Line Support: Act as the ultimate technical authority for resolving complex incidents and conducting deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Project Leadership: Lead large-scale, cross-departmental infrastructure projects, managing budgets up to €2.5 million and driving functional project teams.
• Performance & Monitoring: Implement advanced monitoring tools and define technical KPIs to safeguard system availability and performance.
• Governance: Manage system documentation, Disaster Recovery procedures, and security compliance.
• Strategic Advisory: Contribute to investment proposals and identify cost-reduction opportunities across the technical landscape.

What we’re looking for

• Senior Expertise: At least 8 years of professional ICT experience.
• Educational Background: Academic (WO) level of thinking, ideally obtained through an ICT degree or equivalent experience.
• Technical Mastery: Deep insight into modern ICT engineering methods, infrastructure architecture, and configuration management.
• Project Leadership: Proven experience leading multidisciplinary projects and managing planning, progress, and budgets.
• Industry Context: Knowledge of business and work processes within a large-scale aviation or enterprise environment is highly valued.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-analysis capabilities, the ability to motivate others, and persuasive stakeholder management skills.
• Languages: Excellent command of written and spoken English.
