Senior Compliance Officer
We are on a mission to pioneer the world’s next era of play. As we grow across Europe and Latin America, we’re building The Playstack - the technology powering the next generation of sports, gaming, and fan experiences. Join us, and help make it the most widely used platform in the world! From operations, to marketing, to product, we are looking for talented people who will shape how millions of customers play, watch, and connect every day.
We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to take ownership of regulatory and licensing obligations within the Greek i-gaming market. Sitting within the Compliance function, this role holds primary responsibility for maintaining the Greek i-gaming licence, ensuring ongoing regulatory adherence, and leading compliance initiatives across the business. The position plays a senior, independent role in translating complex regulatory requirements into clear operational guidance, whilst driving responsible gaming obligations and broader governance across the organisation.
What the role involves
- Own and oversee all compliance activities related to the Greek i-gaming licence, ensuring the organisation meets all legislative, regulatory, and licensing obligations with effective risk mitigation and control measures in place.
- Lead compliance projects, risk assessments, and audits, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals and consistent adherence to internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Monitor, assess, and interpret regulatory developments within the Greek regulatory ecosystem, identifying areas requiring updates or remediation and translating requirements into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current policies and processes; recommend, draft, and implement improvements in line with regulatory expectations.
- Manage all regulatory interactions — including inspections, audits, and reporting obligations — with emphasis on communications with the Hellenic Gaming Commission.
- Support product and commercial initiatives from a compliance perspective, ensuring new products, campaigns, features, and market changes are reviewed proactively for regulatory compliance before launch, including managing game submission and regulatory approvals.
- Monitor and support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Responsible Gaming Programme, ensuring alignment with Greek and other market-specific requirements.
- Support regulatory change implementation projects, coordinating cross-functional execution of regulatory requirements, control enhancements, and deadline management.
- Provide independent compliance support during due-diligence reviews for partners, suppliers, and potential acquisitions.
- Provide day-to-day compliance advice and operational support to business units, maintaining accurate, up-to-date compliance documentation, records, and reporting.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 5 years' experience in a compliance management role, ideally within the i-gaming sector.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, obligations, and regulatory dynamics across multiple jurisdictions, with particular depth in Greece.
- Proven experience with Greek i-gaming licensing processes and ongoing compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including leading cross-functional compliance initiatives.
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of gambling regulations, including AML/CTF, Responsible Gaming, and data protection frameworks.
- Strong research capabilities, particularly regarding emerging markets and evolving regulations.
- Solid understanding of crisis management concepts and the ability to design remediation plans when required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both written and spoken Greek and English, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and efficient time management.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting new market entry or multi-jurisdictional licensing processes.
- Familiarity with product compliance review processes in an i-gaming or regulated digital environment.
What we offer
- Medical / Health Insurance
- Open Annual Leave
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Training & Learning Development
Additional benefits vary by country and will be shared during the hiring process.
