Director of Baseball & Football Partnerships

We’re hiring a Director of Baseball & Football to lead StubHub’s Direct Issuance partnerships across the NFL, MLB, and emerging/junior football and baseball leagues. This role focuses on developing direct inventory partnerships with professional teams and affiliated entities — from major franchises to new and developmental properties.
You’ll manage the full partnership lifecycle: identifying targets, building relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and bringing deals across the finish line. This is a relationship-first role requiring regular travel to games, offices, and events around the country. You will report to the Head of Sports Partnerships and play a critical role in scaling StubHub’s influence and access across North American football and baseball.
Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY or Santa Monica, CA
What You'll Do:
- Lead business development and partnership efforts across NFL, MLB, and related properties (e.g., XFL, USFL, MiLB, partner leagues).
- Own the full deal cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with team and league executives, rights holders, and affiliated entities.
- Represent StubHub in meetings, games, and industry events to drive growth and maintain visibility.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across legal, marketing, operations, and product to bring deals to life.
- Stay on top of industry trends, shifts in league policies, and partner priorities to adapt strategy in real time.
- Track and report on pipeline health, partner performance, and revenue impact.
What You've Done:
- 10+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, or commercial strategy, ideally in professional sports.
- Proven track record negotiating and securing high-value commercial deals in or around MLB, NFL, or sports tech/ticketing.
- Deep understanding of the U.S. football and baseball landscape, including league structures and team operations.
- Strong existing relationships across professional sports are a plus.
- Willingness to travel regularly to meet partners and attend events (up to 50%).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- A strategic thinker who is also comfortable executing quickly and autonomously

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
